On the 27 August 2025 the association remembered the sixteen men of 2 Para and the two members of The Queens Own Highlanders that were murdered by the IRA on that day in 1979. This was a tragic day in the history of the regiment and we hoped to provided representation at all the grave sites. We managed to cover 15 of the 18 locations and members were joined by family members that we traced and invited, along with other victims injured on the day. Sadly, some of the family’s could not be traced and RHQ Para has no contact with them. Some had many, others had just one to remember their sacrifice. We Will Remember Them.

September sees the 81st Anniversary of Operation MARKET GARDEN, the Battle of Arnhem. Details over the weekend 18-20th can be found on the events page. Many are expected to travel and we know of one veteran of the battle that is traveling to pay his respects.

The PRA is the official Association of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces. Its continued success is down to the members. Please get in touch with your nearest Branch and maybe take an Airborne friend along. Meetings are normally informal, depending on the occasion. They would be very pleased to see you and you will meet old friends and make new ones in the process.
