Pegasus Network Lunch – Thursday 15th November 2018

The speaker at our lunch this Thursday is Martin Hewitt, an ex Para officer who had to leave the Army due to injuries received in Afghanistan. He went on to found the Adaptive Grand Slam (www.adaptivegrandslam.com).

Martin will speak mainly about their upcoming attempt on Everest in March – May 2019. They are also looking for a bit more sponsorship!

Martins bio is below.

MARTIN HEWITT : AGS founder and Team Leader served eight years as a commissioned officer with the Parachute Regiment. He worked on operations and training exercises in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America. In 2007 Martin received two gun- shot wounds, one through the right shoulder rendering his right arm paralysed and one to the foot. He has since made the record books several times. He represented the military and Great Britain ski racing at the highest international levels. Martin has gained significant experience in expedition planning having organised and led disabled teams on the Geographic North Pole, Mt Manaslu, Mt Everest, Mt Denali, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Elbrus, Mt Aconcagua and completed the marathon des sables. Several televised expeditions include Harry’s Arctic Heroes (BBC1) Without limits (BBC1) Harry’s mountain heroes (ITV1) Without limits (BBC1)
