Our speaker at this month’s lunch on 17th May is Max Maxwell who will talk about his father Tom Maxwell’s escape and evasion after baling out from a crippled Lancaster bomber over France in March 1944. He finally got home in May 1944. In October that year he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Max Maxwell served in the City of London Police 1968 – 1992 retiring as a Detective Chief Inspector at the Serious Fraud Office. Whilst in the police he attended Oxford University to read Jurisprudence as a Bramshill Scholar. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1993 and now practices from chambers in London and Bristol.
