RECORD OF DECISIONS – 100TH MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 4 OCTOBER 2024

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please find attached the Record of Decisions (RODs) of the Executive Committee meeting held on Friday 4 October 2024 in Colchester.

My sincere apologies for the delay in producing these but our staffing issues are causing delays in certain services.

The PRA is in a difficult period here at RHQ Para in terms of manning and funding. We have gone from 9 civil servants to just 4, with no hope of increasing this figure due to the civil service recruiting ban. One of these posts was my assistant Julia. We are now in a position where we have to use charity money to fund a replacement, as an additional 37 hours a week cannot be absorbed or spread among the staff we have. This will cost us in the region of £20,000, something we cannot afford. While our figures attached look good, we do not make much money through investments to support ourselves. Donations have dried up and our branches are happier donating money to cats homes and hospices than to their own organisation.

I would like to appeal to the branches to support this HQ and to consider donating to The Parachute Regimental Association Regimental Headquarters if you have the funds. This would go some way to ensuring that we continue to support you as best we can through 2025 and beyond.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Executive Committee for their support to me and the association. Please assist them in the work they do on my behalf and take an interest in your association. Its survival depends on you.
