Paratroopers have been practising their air assault skills and helping to develop the next generation of RAF helicopter pilots.

16 Air Assault Brigade troops are training with Chinook helicopters from the RAF’s 28 Squadron, which trains pilots in tactical flying and how to operate with ground troops before they join front-line units.

Soldiers and aircrew are working together to practice moving troops around the battlefield as well as equipment and vehicles, both carried inside the Chinook and as under-slung loads.

B Company 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment are seen practising helicopter drills with flights between Merville Barracks and Fingringhoe Ranges, both in Colchester.
